Justin Bieber could be getting off easy in his Miami DUI case.
Prosecutors have reportedly backed away from charging the pop star, 20, with DUI, resisting arrest and driving without a license, TMZ reports.
They are working out a deal with Bieber's lawyers that would see the "All That Matters" singer pleading no contest to reckless driving. In exchange the three more serious charges would be dropped, sources tell the gossip site.
In January Bieber was arrested in Miami on the previously stated charges of DUI, resisting arrest and driving without a license, after an apparent drag racing attempt was busted by cops. He admitted to having been under the influence of alcohol and prescription medications at the time.
The Canadian crooner could get a year of probation for his indiscretions, TMZ reports, and a deal could be reached “within days.”
Bieber may also avoid random drug testing, according to the law enforcement source, which his lawyers were against from the beginning.
It was reported that the singer had an addiction to prescription drugs, marijuana and the codeine mix known as "sizzurp." The alleged substance abuse was revealed after his Los Angeles home was raided in connection to a still unresolved egg-throwing incident with his neighbor.
